The chapter on clinical research includes a highlighted sentence briefly describing outcomes and health services but provides no subsequent in-depth discussion of the topic. Some authors provide detailed treatment options, including medication dosages, that enhance the text's usefulness as a reference source, whereas other authors provide limited detail. However, some of the deficiencies noted in the 14th edition have been corrected. The chapter on hysterectomy now includes some coverage of laparoscopic technique in addition to abdominal and vaginal techniques. However, there is no information on the pros and cons of supracervical hysterectomy performed using this technique and scant discussion of the approaches to closure of the vaginal cuff.
