To the Editor: In the study evaluating the prevalence and outcomes of same-day discharge among patients older than 65 years undergoing elective PCI in 903 US sites, the authors concluded that same-day discharge was not associated with death or rehospitalization compared with overnight observation.1 Although the findings of this study are similar to previous observations,2 we believe that several methodological limitations inherent in the design significantly affect its ability to contribute meaningful data to this ongoing debate.
