The Sunshine Act requires public disclosure of financial relationships between physicians and the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biologics industries. Manufacturers and group purchasing organizations are required to collect payment data beginning January 1, 2012, and to start reporting to the government on March 31, 2013, and to the public on September 30, 2013.
