To the Editor: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is recognized as a major nosocomial
pathogen. Long-term persistence of nasal carriage may explain its presence
in the community. Community-acquired MRSA infections have been recently reported.1 We report a case of community-acquired MRSA infection
with secondary familial transmission.
