Drs Arrieta and Infante-Rivard do not accurately report the results
of Paz et al,1 which showed that a previous
miscarriage resulted in more multiple malformations.
The vast majority of malformed children in our study had single malformations.
For most single malformations, Paz et al did not find an association with
previous miscarriages.1Furthermore, Paz
et al clearly showed that some malformations also found by us (eg, neural
tube defects) were not associated with previous miscarriages.
