RT Journal A1 Monson T T1 INternational atlas of aids JF JAMA JO JAMA YR 2008 FD August 6 VO 300 IS 5 SP 585 OP 586 DO 10.1001/jama.300.5.585 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.300.5.585 AB Weighing approximately 4.75 pounds, it is not light reading. The weight, however, does positively reflect the quality of paper, binding, and content. The color illustrations are well reproduced; tables are attractive and easy to read. Literature citations go well into 2007. The large number of photographs and tables, together with their legends, are doubtless expensive and a challenge to edit and rare typos occur, eg, a figure in chapter 1 presents primary infection peak viral loads as 106 to 107 copies/mL, rather than 106 to 107 copies/mL; another figure in chapter 12 presents a photomicrograph of unidentified trophozoites within mucosa of the colon.
