Unreported Financial Disclosures: In the Commentary titled “The Recommended Dietary Allowance of Protein: A Misunderstood Concept” by Wolfe and Miller, published in the June 25, 2008, issue of JAMA [2008;299(24):2891-2893], the financial disclosures for Drs Wolfe and Miller on page 2893 were not reported. The financial disclosures should have read, “Dr Wolfe reported having received an honorarium and expenses for participation in the ‘Protein Summit 2007: Exploring the impact of high-quality protein on optimal health,’ with support for the conference provided by the Egg Nutrition Center, National Dairy Council, National Pork Board, and the Beef Checkoff through the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. Dr Miller reported having been formerly employed by the National Cattlemen's Beef Association until her resignation in 2005 and having served as a consultant for the Physicians' Committee for Responsible Medicine in 2006.”
