To the Editor.—  In a recent article in The Journal (1982;248:1495), D'Silva and co-workers report a case of disseminated aspergillosis in an apparently healthy man. They state that disseminated aspergillosis is increasing in frequency, although they point out that it is still mainly seen in patients with predisposing factors. In their search of the literature, they found four reports of primary disseminated aspergillosis, one of which was a pediatric case reported by Vedder and Schorr.1 Additional cases of primary aspergillosis occurring in otherwise healthy children have been reported by Hertzog et al2 and by Allan and Anderson.3 In each case Aspergillus fumigatus was cultured.A report not mentioned is a case of endogenous intraocular aspergillosis occurring in a healthy 7-year-old boy that I reported 16 years ago.4 In this case, the patient had a history of photophobia and redness of one eye. Physical examination showed evidence
