This is the youngest of the National medical organizations that hold their annual meetings in close connection with those of the American Medical Association. It was organized during the session of the latter Association in Washington, May, 1891, and held its next annual meeting at Detroit, June 9, 1892. At the first meeting fifty-six physicians were enrolled as members, and perhaps as many more have been added since. The objects and plan of the organization are nearly identical with those of the British Medical Temperance Association, which has been in active operation several years and now numbers about six hundred members. The meeting at Detroit was held in the hall of the Young Men's Christian Association on Thursday evening June 9, 1892, and was well attended. The President, Dr. N. S.
