FDA Will Study Local Food,
Drug Laws and Enforcement
Local food and drug laws and their j enforcement will be studied by the Food and Drug Administration, Commissioner George P. Larrick has announced.Through the study, the FDA hopes to determine how state and local laws, programs and facilities could be improved, and where coordination between federal, state and local programs could be improved.The FDA hopes also to learn more about the functioning of state and local agencies, and to provide goals and timetables for improvements and modifications.

Dr. Herman E. Hilleboe, former assistant surgeon general of the United States Public Health Service, has been named DeLamar professor of public health practice at Columbia University's school of public health and administrative medicine. The university's college of physicians and surgeons has appointed Dr. Brian F. Hoffman as professor of pharmacology and chairman of the department.Dr. Hugh R.
