This comprehensive monograph on renal angiography has value for urologists, vascular surgeons, radiologists, and all clinicians interested in renal disease. Virtually everything pertaining to the subject is covered in this 12-chapter collaborative volume.
The first four chapters provide basic information on renal angiography: "Embryologic and Anatomic Considerations" ( W. H. Hollinshead); "Technics and Hazards of Renal Angiography" (O. W. Kincaid); "Normal Renal Angiogram" (O. W. Kincaid); and "Variations in Renal Blood Supply" (G. D. Davis). The fifth chapter, written by J. G. Hunt, concisely reports the clinical and physiological aspects of renovascular hypertension and the selection of patients for renal angiography. Next is a beautifully illustrated chapter, also by Kincaid, on intrinsic and extrinsic diseases of the renal artery. It covers the subject completely, but unfortunately the scope of the book did not permit more on postoperative angiograms, to show correction of some of these interesting diseases.
