Awards, Honors  The Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania has received a grant of $404,083 from the United States Public Health Service, the funds to be administered by Katharine Sturgis, MD, professor and chairman of the Department of Preventive Medicine and clinical professor of medicine at the college.According to Dr. Sturgis, the seven-year program which will be financed by the grant will be used to expand the "horizons of medical students from disease to health maintenance, from patients as individuals to patients in settings of their families and communities, from conclusions drawn from single or a few patients to those drawn from statistically significant populations."Rutgers University Medical School and College of Pharmacy are recipients of unrestricted gifts totaling $105,000 from the Schering Foundation.A portion of the grant was used toward the construction of the medical school which began its first class this month.
