The American Academy of General Practice Gold Medal for the exhibit of greatest general interest was presented to Walter W. Lane, MD, of Lloyd Noland Hospital, Fairfield, Ala. His exhibit illustrated simplified procedures for performing office bacteriology studies on throat, urine, and sensitivity cultures.
The Hektoen Silver Medal was given to five University of Iowa exhibitors for "Stereoscopic Fluorescence Angiography of the Ocular Fundus in Local and Systemic Diseases." They were: William B. Snyder, MD; W. M. Kirkendall, MD; Lee Allen, Ogden Frazier, and J. T. Leinfelder, MD.
An illustration of "Laser Radiation in Neurosurgery Research" won the Hektoen Bronze Medal for six members of the Children's Hospital Research Foundation, Cincinnati: Thomas E. Brown, MD; Robert McLaurin, MD; Charles True, MD; Peter Hornby, R. James Rockwell, and Robert G. Meyer.
