Manpower.—
President Johnson established a special commission to study manpower needs in the health profession. Named to head the National Advisory Commission on Health Manpower was J. Irwin Miller, chairman of the Cummins Engine Co., Columbus, Ind.President Johnson also asked Labor Secretary Willard Wirtz to study the feasibility of creating a "national roster of draft-eligible doctors."Physicians on the 15-member manpower commission include:Russell Nelson, MD, president of Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Robert Ebert, MD, dean of the Harvard Medical School, Alonzo Yerby, MD, commissioner of hospitals in New York City, James Cain, MD, of the Mayo Clinic, and Dwight Wilbur, MD, specialist in internal medicine in San Francisco.President Johnson also directed Secretary of Defense Robert H.
