The Public Health Service has named ROBERT P. GRANT, MD, as director of the National Heart Institute, effective immediately. Formerly with NHI from 1950 when he entered the PHS, to 1962, Dr. Grant has been active in the cardiovascular research and training field for many years. At the institute, he conducted research in such fields as electrocardiography, vector electrocardiography, cardiac pathology, and clinical cardiology; and headed the institute's laboratory section on cardiodynamics until 1959. In 1962, he joined the National Institutes of Health Office of International Research, where he has since served first as assistant chief, then chief, of its European office in Paris.Dr. Grant succeeds WILLIAM H. STEWART, MD, recently named surgeon general.JAMES W. FEELEY, MD, has been named clinical assistant professor of medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn. From 1964 to 1965, he was assistant professor of cardiology at
