Additional chapters deal with inflammation and wound healing, oral and facial pain, histochemical technique and biopsy procedure. The section devoted to the clinical and radiographic appearance of oral structures, and conditions that resemble disease processes, will particularly interest the physician.
Each pathologic entity is discussed according to its etiology, clinical features, histologic appearance, and treatment. Most chapters contain numerous clinical photographs, radiographs, and photomicrographs. There is also a separate section containing 142 colored illustrations of various oral conditions. Included in the text are many tables which categorize the different diseases, describe their salient features, and list the other conditions which must be considered in differential diagnosis.
The few faults that exist do not seriously detract from the overall value of the book, and are mainly a
