Complications of Urologic Surgery features 124 authors contributing to its 61 chapters. This volume is dedicated to the prevention and management of surgical complications, especially given the advent of laparoscopy and robot-assisted laparoscopy; improved cryosurgery; thermal, laser, and radiation treatments; and a multitude of other new modalities. This reference text would be of great use to the practicing urologist and trainee.

The book contains 10 sections that address various facets of urologic surgery complications. Section 1 contains standard textbook information on pulmonary, cardiac, metabolic, and anesthesia complications. Section 2 details complications of medical therapies with 2 full chapters on hormonal treatment for prostate cancer and on chemotherapy for genitourinary malignancies. Because complications stemming from these treatments are not managed surgically, the 100 pages dedicated to sections 1 and 2 seem excessive.
