A new clinical research program offered by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Lasker Foundation aims to help clinical researchers establish careers.

The Lasker Clinical Research Scholars Program will allow early-stage clinical researchers to spend 5 to 7 years working at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Md. After that, participants would be offered the opportunity to remain at the NIH as senior clinical research scientists or to apply for up to 4 years of funding for work at a university or other institution. Winners of the Lasker Clinical Medical Research Award will also serve as mentors to the participants.
