Professor Von Virchow, in "the Huxley Lecture" delivered before the British Medical Association, Oct. 3, 1898, gave utterance to the following statement, pregnant with meaning to the thoughtful physician: "... An indispensable foundation for practical work, and particularly for medical practice, is to construct an objective picture of the nature of vital processes."
