ABSTRACT

The index accompanying this number of the Journal is an attempt to cover the medical literature of the United States and Canada for the past six months, as we have been able to follow it. Besides the "General Index," which embraces the titles of all articles, editorials, society reports and miscellaneous matter contained in the volume, we include: 1. An index of certain departments. 2. An "Index of Authors:" In this, following the author's name, is the number of the page on which may be found the title of the article and the name of the journal in which it is published. After the matter is set up in cold type we see where improvement can be made, and it is our intention in the future to further the value of the index by not only giving the page reference, but alsothe paragraph number given the article in our weekly
