ABSTRACT

The book has for its reason of publication, as the authors state in their preface, the modern requirements of clinical instruction in obstetrics. It would appear from examination that it meets these requirements, giving the essential and practical points, but leaving the vast amount of anatomic and other collateral facts that occupy so much space in most obstetric text-books to be learned elsewhere. Indeed, it is to be assumed that these have been already acquired by the student. It is, therefore, a work that is especially adapted to the student and practitioner who are already qualified in these regards. In some respects the treatment of certain subjects seems brief, but clearness and reasonable fulness are really the essentials. The work will probably meet with deserved success.
