The usual symptoms of thyroidism, emaciation, weakness, shortness of breath, nervousness, etc., are well known, but there are others occasionally observed that are less generally appreciated. If we are to regard exophthalmic goiter as the result of hyperthyroidization, we can see possibilities in the way of unpleasant symptoms that have not all been actually observed from the therapeutic use of the extract. However that may be, it is probable that observations on the increasing therapeutic use of the drug will from time to time bring out many important additions to our knowledge of its effects.
