The organization of this institution, located at Sewanee, Tenn., is similar to that of the University of Michigan. Its founders are aiming at a high standard of requirements from their students. The very existence of such a school in any locality has an elevating tendency, and in this instance bodes a better day in the new and rapidly rising South. The managers of some of the older and more largely patronized schools will do well to look to their laurels, lest they be rudely awakened to a new condition, with a demand for better service.
