ABSTRACT

Under the above title Würdemann has given us a work very original, scientific and extremely practical, perhaps one of the most original works that has come before ophthalmologists for many years. Würdemann's attention was drawn to this subject by a production of H. Magnus, but that work has been completely rewritten and a vast amount of new material added. Essays on the subject of the medicolegal bearing of visual economics are extremely rare in English ophthalmologic literature. The volume consists of 144 pages splendidly illustrated and clearly written. It is divided into four parts as follows: The first part discusses "The Legal Status of the Physician in Relation to Accident Insurance and Indemnity for Accidents, etc."; in Part II the author takes up "The Special Consideration of Various Ocular Injuries and Visual Defects"; in Part III he considers "The Estimation of the Pecuniary Losses to the Individual by Reason of
