Personal.
—Dr. M. L. Tidwell, Evergreen, has been assigned to duty as an interne at Bryce Hospital, Tuscaloosa.—Dr. Willis W. Scales, formerly quarantine physician at Fort Morgan, has been assigned to duty at Colon, Panama.—Dr. Gregorio M. Guiteras has taken charge of the Marine Hospital, Mobile.—Dr. James J. Peterson, Mobile, is reported to be dangerously ill with appendicitis at the Inge-Bondurant Sanitarium.
CALIFORNIA.
Commencement.
—The commencement exercises of Cooper Medical College, San Francisco, were held May 8. The address of the evening was delivered by Rev. George W. Stone, and a class of 28 was graduated.
Spinal Meningitis.
—Spinal meningitis is reported to be epidemic in the Sacramento Valley. A largely attended meeting has been held in Woodland to investigate the cause of the disease and to discuss the situation.
Society Meeting.
—Butte County Medical Society, at its annual meeting in Chico, elected Dr. Buchanan Caldwell, Biggs, president; Dr.
