Graduation Exercises.
—The graduation exercises of the United States Naval Medical School were held in Washington, March 30, when diplomas were given to a class of 28 by Assistant Secretary of the Navy Newberry. The principal address was made by Dr. J. Chalmers Da Costa, Philadelphia, and addresses were also made by Surgeon-General Presley M. Rixey and Medical Director John C. Wise, U. S. Navy, president of the faculty of the school.
Illness of Major Carroll.
—Major James Carroll of the Medical Department of the Army, who was promoted from the grade of first lieutenant to that of major by special act of Congress in the last hours of the recent session, as a reward for his distinguished services as a member of the yellow fever commission in Cuba, has been quite ill at his residence in Washington for the last two months. Major Carroll is suffering
