ABSTRACT

From time to time The Journal has editorially called the attention of its readers to the evils of contract practice and the need of eternal vigilance on the part of the profession to prevent the installation of a condition of affairs in this country similar to those existing in other lands, like Great Britain, Germany and Australia. It has seemed to us at times that the medical press in this country was not sufficiently alive to these evils which have already appeared in some sections. In a recent issue of the New York Medical Journal, Dr. Burnside Foster of St. Paul calls attention to the need of action on the part of the profession, and points out the dangers from already existing contract practice in certain parts of the country.
