Patient.
—J. G., aged 33 years, Polish, married, brass molder, has been under my personal observation one year. He entered St. Mary's Hospital July 17, 1904.
Family History.
—Father and mother died of old age; disease unknown to patient. Two brothers and two sisters alive and healthy; one brother died of some acute abdominal affection.
Personal History.
—Measles and scarlet fever as a child; otherwise well until present illness. No venereal history.
Present Illness.
—Patient came to this country fourteen years ago and began working at an occupation in which he continually inhaled and was exposed to an atmosphere laden with minute particles of brass filings. One year later his symptoms began. He first noticed palpitation of the heart, accompanied by pain in precordial region; also pain in abdomen of a dull character,
