ABSTRACT

Western Surgical and Gynecological Association.  —The sixth annual session of the Western Surgical and Gynecological Association was held in the Senate chamber of the State House at Topeka, Kan., Dec. 28 and 29, 1896. It was one of the best meetings in the history of the Association, being largely attended, having a good program and interesting discussions. In welcoming the surgeons on behalf of Topeka Mayor Fellows said in part: "To welcome to Topeka honored members of the most progressive of all professions is indeed a pleasure. Five years ago a few prominent surgeons met in this city and started your organization. Today it embraces among its members the leading surgeons of the West. Great as has been the growth of your Association in members and influence, it is as nothing compared to the wonderful progress of the profession you so worthily represent.
