ABSTRACT

AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION.  Official Report of the Proceedings in General Session, of the Forty-seventh Annual Meeting, held in Atlanta, Ga., May 5, 6, 7 and 8, 1896.May 5—First General Session.The Association met in the Grand Opera House, and was called to order by the President, Dr. R. Beverly Cole, of California, at 10 A.M.He was supported by Vice-Presidents, Drs. J. C. LeGrande, Alabama; A. P. Clarke, Massachusetts; T. P. Satterwaite, Kentucky. The permanent Secretary, Dr. Wm. B. Atkinson, Pennsylvania; Assistant Secretary, J. McFadden Gaston, Jr., Georgia, and the Treasurer, Henry P. Newman, Illinois, were present.Prayer was offered by the Rev. Dr. F. McDonald.Dr. Frank M. Ridley, of LaGrange, Ga., delivered an Address of Welcome on behalf of the medical profession, and the Hon.
