—I have the honor to submit the following report of my administration of the duties pertaining to the office of the Surgeon-General of the Army.Among the expenditures authorized by Congress for the fiscal year ended June 30, were those for artificial limbs, for surgical appliances and for trusses for persons disabled in the line of duty, for the Army Medical Museum, for the library of the Surgeon-General's Office, for the support and treatment of destitute patients in the city of Washington, D. C., for the construction and repair of army hospitals and for the support of the Medical Department of the Army.
