A meeting of the committees appointed by the American Medical Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science has been called to meet at Bar Harbor, Me., August 15, to confer regarding the memorial in honor of the late Major Walter Reed, M.D. There are other committees beside the ones above mentioned, and the object is to secure immediate, concerted action and unanimity of purpose. The chairman of the committee representing the American Medical Association is Dr. W. W. Keen, Philadelphia, and Dr. Daniel C. Gilman, Baltimore, is chairman of the committee representing the American Association for the Advancement of Science. It is to be hoped that the various committees will be heartily supported by those whom they represent, and that in the immediate future a memorial worthy of the man and his work will be dedicated to Major Reed.
