ABSTRACT

An irritable stomach from stenosis of the esophagus is treated long time for cancer of the stomach, when the morphia habit is formed. Exploratory laparotomy leads to a correct diagnosis. Cure by bougies and irrigation of the stomach. The morphia habit is cured by the resuscitation of the moral powers. Discussion of the essentials underlying the cure from vice of habit of any kind. Subsequent development of cancer in the right ovary. Cure by celio-salpiugo-oöphoreetomia duplex.
