The first edition of the volume by Bethea was reviewed in The Journal, Nov. 6, 1915, p. 1667, when the purposes of the book and the general treatment of the subject were described. In the second edition the book has been brought up to date, especially with reference to drugs in the United States Pharmacopeia. New ones have been added, and many dropped, "with a sigh of relief,"
