Society Meeting.
—At the annual meeting of the Medical Society of Franklin County, Dr. William P. Hughes, Russellville, was elected president, Dr. J. W. Nance, vice-president, and Dr. William P. Hughes, county health officer.
Personal.
—Dr. Benjamin J. Baldwin and family, Montgomery, sailed from New York for Europe, June 18.—Dr. Erasmus T. Camp has been made president and Dr. Ira C. Ballard secretary of the temporary organization for the erection of a general hospital at Gadsden.
Hillman Hospital Staff.
—The board of governors of the Hillman Hospital, Birmingham, recently taken over by the Jefferson County authorities, consists of the following: Drs. Thomas D. Parke, Charles Whelan, Dyer F. Talley, Hardee Johnston, and Mr. Job Going. The hospital was opened to receive patients June 1.
Opposed to Indiscriminate Prescription of Liquor.
