—Dr. William Browne Carr, Washington, has been appointed deputy coroner of the District, succeeding Dr. Charles S. White, resigned, to take effect, December 1.
Preparing Red Cross Hospital Site.
—The demolishing of buildings on the Seventeenth Street site for the American Red Cross Hospital has commenced. The building to be erected is to be a national memorial to the women of the Civil War.
Examination of Police Surgeons.
—On November 17 examinations will be held to form a list of eligibles for an appointment to the vacancy in the Board of Police Surgeons caused by the resignation of Dr. Edmund Barry, Washington, and the vacancy
