ABSTRACT

In continuing the discussion of this subject from page 815 of The Journal for December 24, 1887, we cannot express more concisely our views regarding the proper standard of medical education that should be required for a license to practice medicine, than by quoting the third section of the law now in force in Minnesota, with the interpolation or addition of two or three lines enclosed in brackets, as follows: "Sec. 3. All persons hereafter commencing the practice of medicine and surgery in any of its branches in this State, shall apply to said Board for a license so to do, and such applicant, at the time and place designated by said Board, or at a regular meeting of said Board, shall submit to an examination in the following branches, to-wit: Anatomy, physiology, chemistry, histology, materia medica, therapeutics, preventive medicine, practice of medicine, surgery, obstetrics, diseases of women and children,
