The American gynecologists will find many valuable references to eminent authorities on the subjects of which the book treats, but will look in vain, except in one or two instances, for any mention or acknowledgement for American gynecology. The book presents a valuable review of foreign gynecology and serves to the reader a concise picture of its present status. To its eminent editor, whose name alone upon the title page of any book would insure it a reading, is due the thanks of all American surgeons who are unable to peruse the work in its original.
