These valuable clinical lectures, which in the main were published recently in The Lancet, represent the experiences of the author at St. George's Hospital between the years 1880 and 1888. The practical information contained in this little volume will be found of special value in the treat- ment of varicose veins. It treats of the parts involved; of the probable causes; the complications which are to be found; the management of ordinary cases without operation, while the last lecture is devoted to the details of operative treatment both palliative and curative. While not claiming to be an exhaustive treatise upon varix, it nevertheless so fully considers the subject as to render it a very valuable manual in the hands of busy practitioners.
