To the Editor:
—In the article on "Puerperal Infection" by me in The Journal (Aug. 31, p. 703), I misquote James A. Harrar. The quotation should read: "Harrar does not advocate intra-uterine douches in puerperal infections with streptococci or the colon bacillus. In cases of infection with other organisms he believes douches may have some value."
Fatigue and Sleep.
—Athletes find that repose without sleep best relieves fatigue after prolonged strain. The reason for this is that the internal secretion antidote to fatigue-products is more rapidly formed during waking hours and more freely supplied to the muscles when the blood is not accumulated in the splanchnic area.—St. Louis Med.
