This is a rather pretentious book for gratuitous distribution. In one way it may be said to be an extended price-list with the prices left off; that is, it is an alphabetical list of the materia medica, itemizing all the forms and combinations in which the various drugs are available. In addition, however, are almost 100 pages of valuable information, such as tables of measures and equivalents, an obstetric calendar, eruptive fever table, food percentages, diet tables, lists of poisons and antidotes, synonyms, a vocabulary of medical Latin, classification of remedies according to physiologic action and classification of remedies by diseases for which they are indicated. These help to make the manual practical and worthy of constant use.
