Commencement.
—On April 19, the commencement exercises of Birmingham Medical College were held, when a class of thirty was graduated. The address of the evening was delivered by Dr. George T. McWhorter, Riverton; Dr. Benjamin L. Wyman presented the diplomas and Dr. Hogan gave the charge to the class.

—Dr. S. H. Newman, Dadeville, was thrown from his buggy in a runaway accident April 6, breaking his left leg below the knee.—Dr. Morris Henry has been elected city physician for Tuscumbia, Dr. Walter A. Maxwell for Sheffield, Dr. Charles W. Williams for Cherokee, and Dr. J. H. Masterson for Leighton by the Colbert County Medical Society.— Dr. Neal B. Sewell, Wetumpka, was painfully injured in a runaway accident, April 6.
