ABSTRACT

This monograph consists of fourteen lectures covering the ground of tuberculin treatment, breathing exercises, aftertreatment, and the psychic management of tuberculous patients. It aims to give practitioners a clear account and directions for the execution of those measures which distinguish sanatorium treatment from that which the patient is likely to receive at home, unless under the especial supervision of a most painstaking physician. The book also considers many of the social questions which are raised by the occurrence of tuberculosis among the masses. To the sanatorium physician and also to the practitioner who wishes to do the best for the patient who remains at home, these lectures, representing the accumulated experience of the sanatoria, ought to be of special value. They are as yet accessible only to those who read German.
