—From a letter and circular published by R. Harvey Reed, M.D., Mansfield, Ohio, we learn that an active effort is being made in that State to organize a State Sanitary Association, to be composed not only of medical men, but of all citizens interested in the subject of sanitary science and the prevention of disease. That such an organization, meeting in general session once or twice a year, and more frequently in Sections in different parts of the State, could do very much to enlighten and direct public sentiment, not only in regard to the preventable causes of disease, but also in regard to the necessity for the enactment of wise and just laws for the promotion of the public health, there can be no doubt.
