—In the Original Contribution entitled "Benchmarking the US Physician Workforce: An Alternative to Needs-Based or Demand-Based Planning," published in the December 11,1996, issue of THE JOURNAL (1996;276:1811-1817), incorrect data appeared in the text and tables. In Table 1 on page 1813, in the category for "Selected specialists," the "Age-adjusted rate per 100 000" for the "HMO benchmark" should be 83.6 [not 90.7], the "Ratio of United States to benchmark" should be 1.38 [not 1.27], and the "US workforce in excess or (deficit), No." should be 76383 [not 60627]. In Table 2 on page 1814, the data for "Ratio of United States Compared With Benchmark" for HMO for "Pathology" should be 2.08 [not 0.98] and 7662 [not (252)], and for "Radiology" should be 1.41 [not 0.96] and 6912 [not (930)]. On page 1813, in the left column, second paragraph, the last sentence should read as follows: "The US rate
