LESS than 6 months from now, one of the first major events of the so-called war on cancer's second quarter century will occur in Nevada's Lake Tahoe region.
That event will be the Fourth Annual Scientific Retreat of CaP CURE, the Association for the Cure of Cancer of the Prostate, which has its headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif. The retreat is scheduled for September 4 to 7 at a hotel in exclusive Incline Village, within walking distance of a lakeside home recently constructed by financier Michael Milken.
Milken was 46 years old in February 1993 when it was found that he has adenocarcinoma of the prostate that even then had spread to the lymph nodes. Almost since that day, he has focused his organizational talents through CaP CURE on revitalizing prostate cancer research.
