The first sentence of the paragraph that begins at the bottom of the third column on page 1173 and continues at the top of the first column of text on page 1174 should read as follows: "Among the participants who were classified as hypertensive, 63% [not 56%] were hypertensive purely on the basis of taking antihypertensive medication, 20% [not 29%] were hypertensive because of a systolic blood pressure higher than 160 mm Hg or a diastolic blood pressure of at least 96 mm Hg, and 17% [not 15%] fulfilled both conditions."
