—In the Medical News & Perspectives article entitled "Surgeons Grapple With Synovitis, Fractures Around Silicone Implants for Hand and Wrist," published in the July 1,1992, issue of THE JOURNAL (1992;268:13, 17-18), the affiliation and title given for a source were incorrect. On page 18 under "Dow's Response," in the first sentence of the third paragraph, Robert Nalbandian, MD, should not have been listed as senior pathologist for Dow Corning Wright. At the time Dr Nalbandian made the statement that was quoted, he was pathologist at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, Grand Rapids, Mich, and collaborating with hand surgeon Alfred Swanson, MD, on several research projects.
