The editors of Health Care of Homeless People make up a balanced, cross-disciplinary team based in New York and represent a solid background of authority on the homeless. The book developed out of a 1983 national conference sponsored by the United Hospital Fund of New York and supported by the Memorial Trust. The authors also acknowledge a debt to St Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center of New York, a leading force in developing health care programs for the homeless.
