This is National Epilepsy Month.
A documentary—introduced at the American Neurological Association meeting in Chicago last month—will be shown on the Lifetime Cable Network (which telecasts the "AMA Medicine Today" program on "Doctors' Sunday" each week) Nov 6 at 11 am Eastern time, Nov 16 at 8 pm, and Nov 22 at 3:30 pm. It will be telecast for a final time Dec 2 at 8 pm, after which viewers, including physicians, will have an opportunity to telephone in questions.
The televised documentary is entitled "Epilepsy: Quality of Life." It is a key feature of a program designed to help improve quality of life for patients with epilepsy.
The physician and public awareness program is being conducted by the Epilepsy Foundation of America, which says that about 2 million Americans have epilepsy. Emphasis now is on quality of life, as well as control of seizures, clinicians in this field say
